No way to work

Because I work freelance, I don't have a routine way to work - some days it's just the couple steps from my bed to my desk, other days it's in random coffee houses and lounges around the city. Today, I'm working in the 9th floor lounge of a hotel. I just snapped this sunset picture of Chuo park in the Shinjuku area of Tokyo. The top floor of one of those three buildings on the left is the lobby of the Park Hyatt Tokyo, where the movie "Lost in Translation" was filmed. You're seeing what Scarlett Johansson looked out on everyday with that sad look on her face - she didn't know what she was missing!

Traffic Woes

This picture was taken a year ago, while I was driving to work from Sharjah to Dubai I spotted these kids walking in the middle of the highway, I was curious and since the traffic was not moving I changed lanes to ask them what they thought they were doing, Khalid, Ahmed and their not so talkative friend told me that since the traffic was so slow, it was wiser not to take a cab and instead walk to their destination. Sure enough they had overtaken me much before the traffic started moving at a better pace. Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Work after Dinner

Arshad had just had his dinner and was on his way back to work driving around town in his "Autorickshaw" trying to get some late customers when I asked him if I could photograph him and he happily volunteered. Lahore, Pakistan.

Waiting for Work

This team of three are known as the "Dhol Walas" meaning the drummers, the "dhol" is a local drum with a very distinct beat. These people stand at a prominent location every evening to be picked up by people to perform at traditional wedding events. Lahore, Pakistan.

This young salesman and his assistants go around the city selling onions on their donkey cart, for them their way to work is whereever there are buyers. Lahore, Pakistan.

Working with Flowers

Spotted on a Bangalore road yesterday - decorators on their way to some event, very likely a wedding reception. The vehicles you see are the famous Indian autorickshaws. But don't ask me what the decoration is.....never seen one like it before!
