Trying Something New

View overlooking the busy streets of Cairo, next to the entrance of the Khan Al Khalili Bazaar,

On the first day of the new year, I decided to try something new. I have visited the Al Azhar Mosque, Egypt many times before and although it is always beautiful praying there, apart from when some men tell you it is unlawful to sit in the courtyard (standing is apparently totally halal), I had never been up in one of the many Minarets. So a friend and I simply asked and we got permission to climb what I believe is the highest Minaret of the Mosque with amazing views over the area called Old Islamic Cairo.
