Aqeeqah in Islam is a ceremony in which a new born's head is shaved in the first couple of days after birth. This is a picture of my nephew born a few days back, the head is yellow because after the head shaving "saffron water" was applied on his head. Lahore, Pakistan.
Interesting. Any particular reason why this is done?ReplyDelete
The Aqeeqah, is a religious ceremony that not only involves the shaving of the head but also the sacrifice of a sheep in the name of the child, it is mostly said to be "Sunnah" a tradition of the Prophet Muhammed, some religious scholars however say that it is obligatory.ReplyDelete
