Aqeeqah

Aqeeqah in Islam is a ceremony in which a new born's head is shaved in the first couple of days after birth. This is a picture of my nephew born a few days back, the head is yellow because after the head shaving "saffron water" was applied on his head. Lahore, Pakistan.

  2. The Aqeeqah, is a religious ceremony that not only involves the shaving of the head but also the sacrifice of a sheep in the name of the child, it is mostly said to be "Sunnah" a tradition of the Prophet Muhammed, some religious scholars however say that it is obligatory.
