Sakura in Tokyo

Beautiful ancient cherry trees blossom at the Hie Shrine in Akasaka, Tokyo.

In Japanese, cherry blossom is called sakuraWhen the wind blows and the blossom falls like snow, this is called sakura fubuki (cherry blossom blizzard).

During cherry blossom season, people visit the many parks in Japan to view the blossoms, and to enjoy hanami (blossom viewing) picnics in the grass under the trees.
