greenlands of armageddon..

just down from Tel Megido (mythological venue of armageddon) in Israel.. there is a little military run way.. and every year in march the place is abloom with beautiful wild flowers that are gently sectioned off to stop people from inadvertantly treading on them..

  1. Next time you're there try getting down on your knees and catch a close up á la NZM's style, the flowers are so pretty. I am curious to see what kind of flowers are growing there :)

  2. I sometimes also lie flat on the ground! LOL

Those lovely flowers remind me of the motorways in Auckland, NZ. They sow wildflower seeds so that in spring and summer there are gorgeous flowers growing along the motorways and in the median strip inbetween the 2 sides. It saves on having to mow the grass and looks pretty at the same time.

  4. Calanit is anemone in English - such lovely flowers. (The myth is that the goddess Flora was jealous of her husband's love for the nymph Anemone and thus transformed her into the wind flower and left her at the mercy of the North Wind.)
Your photo is a nice contrast to what we usually associate with Armageddon!
