Not exactly 'imported'; this tarantula brooch (yes, it is a brooch!) was brought in from Germany for a pearl exhibition at the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation earlier this year. Made in 1998, the body is a natural orange-red pearl from the Horse Conch shell, while the legs are diamond-studded gold. It's meant to be worn on the shoulder.....too creepy for my style sense!
