Sand Strokes

His name is Saleh & he's a 'sand artist' (is there a specific name for this art?) He works at the Abu Dhabi International Airport duty-free area (upper floor). He pours coloured sand into glass jars layer by layer; a few swirls, shakes and pokes and prods with a thin metal rod and voila - you have a simple but stunning desertscape. A glass jar approximately 5 inches high (as pictured) takes 15 minutes and costs 25 dirhams or approx $7. I especially love the camels!
