Happy Hanukkah!

Welcome December, and welcome to the beginning of the holiday season for many of our world's faiths! Having left Diwali behind us, it is time for Judaism and its festival of lights, Hanukkah, to enter the scene. Today from sundown until 8 days from now, Dec 12th, the Hannukiyeh (Menorah, 9 candle holder) will be lit one for everyday.

The festival is also symbolic for the survival of Jewish tradition and culture in non-Jewish society. To our fellow blogger Lirun and our Jewish readers, Happy Hanukkah!

This week we look at Interesting People. On our travels, walking down the street, in our homes or attending a lecture, interesting people are everywhere and since we don't have the ability to be in many places at once, globalthemes.org will introduce some of them to you.
