The Waving Girl


Waving Girl Statue in Savannah, Georgia, US was made in honor of Florence Martus: She greeted passing ships for 40 years by waving a cloth during the day, and a lantern during the night. It was said that she never missed a ship.

    WOW! That is some story, and a beautiful pic - love the way the green acts as a foil to the grey.
