Something special on every corner

If you ever get the opportunity to visit the U.A.E., travel up into Oman on the Upper Musandam peninsular, and head into the hills behind Khasab.

The road is magnificent, the scenery is spectacular, and I guarantee that you'll soon run out of superlatives; fall silent and just enjoy the views.

This is the start of the Hajjar Mountains, a spinelike range which runs for hundreds of kilometres through the U.A.E. and mostly Oman, in a roughly North-South direction.

This image was taken on a curve in the road and shows an area where water must travel very fast down the mountain during rains.

It would not be good to get caught up there in the wet.
