This rocky mountain is what one might call
the Grand Canyon of the UAE. Perhaps not as grand however the
1240 metre high rock in layered textures and colours is a must-see if visiting the UAE. About 1,5-2 hrs drive from Dubai, the view from the top is worth every second in the car.
did you climb to that vantage point?
ReplyDeleteMiki - ha!
ReplyDeleteThe road up Jebel Hafeet is just awesome - a 3 lane twisting and curving highway with enough lighting to make it daylight during darkness.
About a year or so ago, a British motoring magazine rated the Jebel Hafeet road as one of the best driving roads in the world.
The reason why it's so good? There's a palace at the very top which belongs to one of the sheikhs, so of course the road is the best that money could build!
Miki - here you go.
ReplyDeleteThe Jebel Hafeet Road is #18 of this slide show of the World's Top 80 Drives!
