Yep, the UN building is open to visitors. They have tours and they take you inside the main rooms, unless there's a meeting going on..
And yes Radha, photos are indeed allowed. I wouldn't have had the courage to take the photo otherwise... (altough I did pick up my phone during the visit and was thrown out of the building but that's another story :P
