Around Berlin Today 02

Poseidon, God of the Sea, sits atop his oyster shell surrounded by cherubs and sprayed from 4 corners by a sea serpent, a crocodile, a turtle and a seal.
This fountain sits outside the Rotes Rathaus (Red Townhall) in Berlin which is home to the governing mayor and the government of the Federal state of Berlin.

The Rotes Rathaus is also where J gave her first speech in a brief political career before she came to her senses and got out of the scene!

  3. There's something about Global Themes' topics that make you see and photograph things that you don't usually notice.

I must have walked past this fountain about 5 times, and it wasn't until yesterday (and the GTB topic of fountains) that I took notice of the fountain and what it was all about!

I was really surprised at the amount of detail in it - and it's all in copper or bronze too!
