The Manhattan (white) and Brooklyn (brown) bridges connect Manhattan Island and NYC with the eastern suburbs including Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island.
There are 8 bridges over the East River from Manhattan Island, and 13 tunnels under it - 2 of which are vehicular while the rest carry trains.
