Illumination

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light ~ Genesis 1:3

And God saw the light, that it was good ~ Genesis 1:4

Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris was an amazing experience for me.

As a pro Wedding & Portrait photographer in the earlier part of my working life, and then 18 years in processing labs and involved in the NZ Institute of Professional Photography, the challenge for me was to understand, control and record light as it would expose on film, paper or a digital sensor - not necessarily as the naked eye could see it.

Being in Notre Dame brought back that for me. I relished the different light conditions which were present for me to play with!

  2. Notre Dame is really cosy and surely has that " i just stepped into another realm" feel to it.

Well like Harsha said, this surely explains the fab nzm pics that you consistently present to us :) Beautiful imagery, for real.

  3. Well, I trained as a Wedding & Portrait photographer which is very different to landscape photography, but at least the camera skills and technical knowledge is roughly the same!

My "hobby" is Landscape and Architectural photography.
